Coloring isn't as bad as trying to do the shading, since it seems like the Performa struggles greatly on the softer brushes.

Perhaps the Quadra 650 that I'll be picking up soon will fare better?...

the only problem with this is that the further we are from the light source, the sharper the shading gets. And the closer we get to the light source, the softer the shading.
