It is not possible to mix 8x8 with 8x16 modes within the same frame. In practical terms, you should probably switch the sprite mode between scenes only. So in your case you could use 8x16 arranged like this.

AMD renders groups in blocks of 16x32, and uses subgroups of 64 pixels, preferably (but most often not) aligned to 8x8.

These are from series of satirical, 8x8 inch prints, done during the Cover-19 lockdown, featuring the Fisher Price toys from my youth.

Some recent commissions I’ve finished!! The two dogs are gouache and the boy is acrylic paint, all are on 8x8 inch watercolor paper!

I still have commission slots open for sketches & paintings and I’ll have to close once school starts again, so if ur inch rested now’s the time!

No, first 3 books were released yesterday... from left to right: Light of the Jedi (adult novel); A Test of Courage (middle-grade book); The Great Jedi Rescue (8x8 children's story book). But very first item was in Star Wars Insider (released Dec.) part 1 of a short story.

[INTEREST CHECK] if I made a sticker sheet with these designs would anyone be interested? 😺 The sheet will likely be A5 size (5.8x8.3 inches) and roughly $8aud/6usd (+ shipping). There's a poll below 👇

I experimented with these 8x8 pixel tiles a while back. Meant to be sort of an overworld with smaller scale characters/buildings (hence the trees are fairly small). Never decided to use them for anything.

Tsuyuri crouch rescaling before/after. Background squares are the same pixel dimensions (8x8) for both. I've also added an intermediate skin tone that goes between the lit and shadowed parts to add more of a rounded look (caved to the UNI sprite aesthetic)
