This era of Hylics 2 was different from the final game beyond just the characters, though. Examples are the ability to battle enemies in the overworld, an unused lab area, and a cutscene involving some kind of explosion. (7/10)

Somsnosa seems to be the only party member who would return in Hylics 2 at this point, but with a new outfit (prompting discussion as to whether or not she was actually Somsnosa.) Her house from Hylics 1 also appears, suggesting Hylics 1 and 2 originally shared locations. (5/10)
