Luffy's new technique "Red Roc" reminds us of the origin of ONE PIECE story. Roc/Rukh is a legendary bird in Middle East. Oda already made it appear as "Mysterious Bird Rukh" in Romance Dawn known as a prototype of OP. Red Roc is a cool naming for this memorial chapter 1000.😍

One of the most celebrated arcs in OP for good reason. Nami's backstory is imo the best of the entire crew, right up to present day. Everyone gets a good fight here. Luffy's "I can't use a sword" speech gets me every time.

This fact isn't new but somehow very unknown, but Nami was originally meant to be the first Straw Hat to join, similar to Silk/Ann in the Romance Dawn pilots. Chapter 1 centered around meeting Nami and fighting Morgan, but Oda instead made Luffy's flashback the whole chapter
