I'm sure @JoschuaKnuppe @AndreyAtuchin & @ChrisDPiazza remember how I LITERALLY wrote the book on North African palaeontology. Then rewrites happened, my dropbox died, covid...
But @iupress has told me my book is next up to move into production in the Life of the Past series🥳
Dino Fact:
Incisivosaurus (Incisor Lizard) is an oviraptorid from Early Cretaceous China! It's an odd-looking dinosaur, most noticeably its large upper front teeth. It showed that, even though later oviraptors were toothless, they had toothed ancestors.
Art: palaeopedia
(2/4) The dinosaur designs are inspired less by contemporary palaeontology, and more by the monster movies of the 1950s and 60s. No feathers, and lots of dragging tails! Some more up to date touches are also included, making the dinosaurs of PROJECT:TEPUI just a little different.

Palaeoloxodon is done!
It’s the fake Kaimere species, hence the divergence from fossil taxa in slope of the back, head lump, etc.
#OTD 13th April 1855 Henry de la Beche died. He was a keen geologist and palaeontologist, working alongside Mary Anning. He drew one of the first Jurassic sea reconstructions, which included creatures Mary had discovered, and sold prints to financially support her later in life.
Gloomy Java (usually just shorted to GJ) - a depressed and shy little bat-pony who works at a night-cafe & her girlfriend Strata Sanguine who works as a palaeontologist. After I drew the comic I kinda forgot about them ;;
It's #FossilFriday, so I thought you might enjoy these Platybelodons 😃A proboscidean (group that incl. elephants🐘) that lived ~15-5 mya in Eurasia, Africa & N. America. These are in the Beijing Museum of Natural History. #Palaeoart by Nikolai Litvinenko. #mammals #fossils
April 6, 1821, the description of the very first ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs by William Conybeare published. Both fossils were found by palaeontologist Mary Anning 🪨🔨

To go with earlier tweets about #beekeeping in ancient Egypt and Greece, this is thought to be earliest depiction of honey gathering from palaeolithic times (8000 years ago) from cave painting in Arana Cave near Valencia, Spain 😃 @britishbee @britishbee @BeeCraftMag @beekeeper
As well as Bakker, Paul & Henderson like everyone else in my generation, the people I was most inspired by when I first started doing serious palaeoart were Frederik Spindler and Jason Brougham. I still think both deserve more recognition in the community! https://t.co/uwbJSTosq0
💖FINISHED💖
Just finished my #Carnotaurus portrait!
It is my first attempt at digital drawing and fifth at #paleoart/#palaeoart.
I am quite happy with how it looks, considering I'm a noob and taking into consideration the many hours I spent on it!
I hope you like it!

A non-palaeoart art, Egbert the Careless from the Oxventure series over on @outsidexboxofficial and @outsidextra. Egbert is my favourite character from the series, partly because he is a giant reptile but also because @MikeChannell plays him so perfectly 😂
