Reading the gorgeous Material Lives by @Serena_Dyer, which innovatively reconstructs the lives of four 18th century women through their material biographies 🪡🎨
Thx for the tag :D

@waschbaerella I just got this back from @moonyparrot ! Aurel, he/him!
I’m kind of reconstructing his character a bit, so these assumptions might be used as inspiration too!
I've always loved this about the work of artists like Karol Schauer & Libor Balak, that they make their reconstructed ancient cultures look & feel like actual CULTURES. There are patterns, mosaics, body-paints, odd idols. You aren't quite sure what's going on, & that's the point
I've always had a soft spot for reconstructions, through paintings or models, of the Neolithic and Bronze Age. There is something inimically bucolic about them. Yet one thing I have noted, and which I think is a real shame, is the persistent and near-total lack of colour
I don’t know why but I have been in the mood for “moody” pink or orange lighting in my reconstructions lately. I usually prefer more neutral, “natural’ lighting but for some reason I have been more into moody lighting lately
Here is a sketch of Graciliceratops mongoliensis as requested by one of my patrons in the Deinonychus level. It was fun reconstructing this small Ceratopsian that is not well represented in paleoart.
*BANGS POTS AND PANS*

One of many: Jean (without the Phoenix Force) shuts down the entire Poisons hive—a species of crystalline extraterrestrials that assimilates Symbiotes like Venom and Carnage—and reconstructs her body from thin air.

Cistercian houses had a set Plan Dundrennan Abbey (Dumfries & Galloway) HS info board Newbattle (Dalkeith) watercolour 1991 & Alan Sorrell's reconstruction of Melrose. For some reason Melrose was a backwards Plan. Even Byland (Sorrell) in England followed the usual site Plan.
The front of the beak isn't preserved in the Vălioara mandible, but Vremir et al. (2018) reconstruct it as being the base of the keeled portion, based on comparisons with Bakonydraco. Albadraco adds more support for this.
3D Reconstruction of the Mashhad of Yahya ibn al-Qasim, a historic shrine in Mosul, Iraq destroyed by ISIS in 2014.
Situated on the banks of the Tigris river, this beautiful shrine dated back to the 1200s.
