Day six of drawing freehand, I attempted my first woman. I’ve got to say, I’m pretty happy with how this turned out! I’d love to improve on my material textures, i.e. making her jacket more obviously leather.

Hi! Thanks for the share!! I'm a traditional artist who loves mixing patterns, textures, and other abstract elements in my work! I tend to work in watercolors but I also use gouache and acrylics too!

Examples:

Some of my recent paintings often include textures, Chromatic Abberation and/or Glitch.

I just love the color effects plus combination of wavy, organic shapes (human shapes + hair, clothing) vs geometrical strict forms (like the rectangles of the Glitch or Grids).

More lines practice. I gotta try to mess with textures, but am scared.

Do you want to take a break and wander on these hills?

My challenge this year, is to improve my landscapes compositions and floor/grass/etc textures, let's go! And draw a sh*tload of clouds ofc.

"Blue Waters" by Patricia Roche is an outstanding painting from her "Reflections" series in which she uses unique textures, colors and fluidity of movement. Her subjects include "the sea, nature, water, mountains, snow, clouds and more". https://t.co/TtPU7Eo8WM

And instead of relying on textures, I'm now working on daguerreotype brushes. Still a long to go but a good start.

Here's a simplified example of how the WR marketing team makes these assets!

1. Artist sketches potential poses
2. Posed in 3D viewer
3. Paintover (just basic textures, mostly focused on comp, several POs to refine)
4. Paintover final (with VFX, lighting pass, and... drool) https://t.co/IcyCicIUcX

I forgot to mention that I looked to my friend 's artwork he did for the Lost Legends of Redwall: The Scout for inspiration for this piece. He's really good!
I still need to work on my lighting and textures, especially fur and hair.

For example, Kul Tiran, Lightforged Draenei, Draenei, Blood Elf and Void Elf, all have identical UV mapping on their hair textures, and several others have very similar.

So basically, grouping Hair Textures not by race, but by type. (Straight, Layered, Curly, for example)

completely different than how I initially imagined this! Super fun experimenting with different brushes/textures, colors, layers and so I really let my self just go with the flow. 💖💖
