in this case

1 - sketch
2 - refine + put in the values
3 - refine again with attention to shape and values
4 - use lasso tool for each part and color each part individually with the tone curve tool + refine while adding something of your own

My big sis dont do fanarts, dont have an art acc, and is not pursuing art so she always undervalues her art and loses confidence at times cuz people around her just dont care. It would be cool if anyone could sincerely compliment her art 🥺

This year has taught me that living a goals based life was fucking DRAINING, and a values based life is the most enriching and healing thing, long may it continue. I’ve found so much peace, and I’m so reluctant to let it go any time soon.

1. Self portrait
2. I decided to push myself with values and details (these flowers too yearssss)
3. Second digital painting I ever started
4. This one is my heart piece.
There's always that painting that marks the beginning of something for an artist, this piece was it. https://t.co/TiPMJLhLM0

I have this one but I doubt it would help anything XD
my process: sketch - paint values - paint colors - render

A small Cloud Strife Sketch as I listen to Esben and Victor Maury’s livestream today!
Tried to incorporate some linework. There are places to tone down (face) and up (turtleneck) the values

Also here is the timelapse of me trying to figure out how to paint after drawing in black and white values ( ; v ; )

Once again, a new approach. This time I tried to use values instead of only black, gray and white.

Tank OC, Happy Gundel. Freak show escapee, trained in the art of sword swallowing. Holds many blades in his stomach, big and small. He has taken a vow of silence in order to have luck in finding his daughter. Gluttonous, depressed, but protective to those he values.

Another thing i noticed is that even my value-planning looks fine, it doesnt look like a jumbled mess like it usually does XD

Normally id slam values/colors everywhere and then correct it after. Now i dont need to spend as much time fixing my sloppy messes! Haha.

Not the most exciting subject matter, but the focus for this one was diffuse light and small to large approach. I tend to get lost in details, so zooming way out, painting with a large brush, forced me to forget about the details and focus on values.

Since I'm not completely happy with my design and values I will be focusing more on sketches for a while trying to sharpen my skills a little

Study of a man in profile in the style of J. C. Leyendecker.

It's important to pay attention to the planes of the face. If you group your values based on which planes face the light, you get a much clearer read of the form. Keep studying, re-studying, implementing anatomy.🎨
