2020 - Spider-Man: Miles Morales and TLOUII
I know ties are unsatisfying but these games both hit me emotionally, were gorgeous visually, and overall fun gaming experiences that I've never quite had before. Brava to the twinners!

Such a superb experience, so creative, such a fantastic aesthetic, really neat developments. Overall just an unbelievable journey. (Cannot wait to watch the new Re:cycle movies as well!)

As much as I look forward to S/V, the only thing I don't like so far is the Terastal Phenomenon. Unlike previous gimmicks like Mega Evolutions or Z-Moves, it just feels like an excuse to sell toys rather than add to the overall metagame.

Season 1 of Tiny Toon Adventures, while still acclaimed overall, had a hectic production schedule that was hampered by animation studios turning in less-than-stellar results
2007 - Mass Effect
2007 is the year where too much good shit happened in the gaming industry. the fact i have to pick one is a crime. Mass Effect offered a ton of promise, great music, and bioware touches that overall redefined alot of how story RPGs worked.
