In Finnish folklore, a hiisi is a forest spirit who is a danger to travellers.

He is said to own a hundred-horned elk.

Hiisi are so well known, they are used instead of goblins in the Finnish translations of Tolkien’s stories!

Considering all the Sonic hype right now, I'm reminded of one of my favourite universes growing up, the UK exclusive Sonic the Comic. It had its own lore, unique characters, storylines and everything. I really regret not collecting it to its completion.
