Wasn't happy with the first draft of the novel, so I'm re:writing and sketching art outlines. I plan to draw a birthday illustration before that time. I will give more details in a blog post next week! thank you 🙇‍♀️

So, I've been itchin' to do a collab for a bit now, so me and my boy decided to pull up and do a cool ass piece! He did the Junio Sonic and the background, while I did the Modern Sonic and the outlines! Hope y'all love this as much as we do, this was HELLA fun to make!!

A big thing that helps curb my insane perfectionism is that I don’t need to be 100% accurate with my pixel art. As pixels are a set grid, they’re incapable of making precise outlines so you’re forced to comprise on your concept.

6/ With Shellz, I’ve spent more than 20 hours leafing through 8k generative hand-drawn pieces. Not a hair out of place, no phantom outlines, and every time I come back, I see a new flourish, dragon tattoo, rare accessory, galactic McGuffin picked from the creator's imagination.

I mainly draw the whole thing in photoshop first and then it's pixel counting on the switch for a couple of hours 🥲

When it's done in PS I do the outlines first and divide them with red (for easy counting). After that it's shading, which I divide in colors for their "type".

maybe i'm getting it confused with the grey pixels on the outlines in the earlier games which are supposed to be like fake alpha antialiasing since it wasnt actually possible back then
