I had many reasons (mostly pandemic-related) for self-publishing Red Shoes. A major one, though, involved it being the book I wanted it to be, as opposed to the book a publisher might want me to rewrite it into being.

With more and more manga going digital, this isnt the case as much anymore, but traditionally different types of pens were used to draw manga. Which is why you can see a difference in those light, delicate details as opposed to bold, thick outlines. You gotta train to use them

An addition to this—Maya Fey with design elements with Iris Sagan/A-Set! I had a lot of fun changing up Maya's usual attire, like with a Mr Monkey sidepack and giving her headband more "dog" like ears as opposed to Iris's more "cat" like ones.
