The problem with Honey Lemon's skin tone being so lightened is that the response is, "wait, she's LATINA? I THOUGHT SHE WAS WHITE AND BLONDE." That's the problem. It shouldn't be an A-HA moment. The representation should be apparent enough that we know as an audience.

My partner and I have been screaming about this for literally years. Why is no one talking about Honey Lemon?? The animated series is whitewashing her even more (final show vs concept art). At this point, hardly anyone knows she is actually Latina, and it's awful.
