The 1st half of Kyoukai Senki was around a 6/10 to me. The 2nd half though was an improvement music, action & story-wise. I did not need to force myself to watch it like the 1st half.
As long as the final episode ends in a satisfying manner, I'll probably give it a 7/10 overall.

At it's very core, Senki is about a group of kids on a adventure to fight off the wind clan eventually involving the west and technology.
The focus on the kids and their Mecha felt reminiscent of Vifam and Eldran and is as good as those 2 series for different reasons.
Hiwou Senki is unlike any mech show I've seen with it being focused on Karakuri(clockwork) mecha set during Japan's meiji period. It's a very cool and inspired idea for a mech series and I really gotta give bones credit for doing something truly original.
This looks like a reference of the old 80s-90s Anime/Games where they had Bikini clad Women as warriors fighting with no problems.
I really miss this era of works. Even JPN don't really make works like this anymore.
