This pic was meant to be a test for greyscale coloring

About to finish up the greyscale and getting in some more values for Albedo from Overlord! Tomorrow we finish up and colour it. Wee!

I'm just gonna call this done. I don't know how to do this greyscale shading thing very well

Some fancy Yaku, I had forgotten how annoying painting from greyscale was

Trying to psych myself into working more and harder. I'm not... sure how to color this, still? Is coloring even a smart move? I want to include ~color symbolism~ which obviously wouldn't work in b&w/greyscale comic... and using emphasis color would be a bit... too un-subtle. Bah.

to a portrait I painted I did last year. I feel like I've become more confident with colour over the last year and moved away from greyscale, but I do sometimes miss painting this way

My quick and dirty process boils down to:

1. A sheet of silhouettes.
2. A value (greyscale) painting of the best few.
3. A layer with the blend mode set to "color" over the value.

I liked the greyscale so much more than the final product... it FEELS painted over to me :(

started with greyscales, which was sort of a new technique for me! I don't know if I like it this way, but the b/w render was very satisfying to draw )bb
