I've been researching Japanese folklore to connect with my heritage, and yokai were so deeply fascinating I had to write about them. Folk Remedy is set in the Taisho era because it was a time where Japan was beginning to reclaim the stories they almost lost to Westernisation.

Slavic mermaids usually lack any tail and can live both in the salt water and lakes. They also much more vile by their nature, even if their stories are often tragic. Loved by Morteshka and Evdokia's story especially.
