Y'all know I don't care enough about faces in a video game to say it devalues any fun factor for me. Although IF I did care then I'll logically say both faces in the game suck compared to 616/Amazing Spider-Man in the comics. That's the best look.

I didn't think this painting would work since I've never painted in greyscale before and it was kinda challenging since I do struggle with values a bit

I did that greyscale to color thing for this piece and honestly, I'm still not quite sure how it works (except for the crystals, I painted those straight.) It's useful to in making values really pop but gets trickier when you dont want the shadows to muddy up the hues.

i think i've found a better way to deal with gradients with limited colors. pixel/hash brush in 3 different values, posterize into 3, and then it's easy to wand and fill just 3 colors as the aliased edges became hard pixel edges instead.
