@Kothorix I think you're referring to what is called a backlighting or "halo effect". It's really hard to draw and I'm still trying to learn myself, here's my recent attempt below. I recommend looking up lighting layers tutorials and backlit references (backlit suit photo refs added here)

Kids these days have it good with their cheap, amazing Clip Studio Paint, tablets and a plethora of tutorials at their disposal compared to our crappy "How To Draw Manga" books :P
