Not really a art thing but been studying Jam sonic lately and it finally hit me how many traits Uekawa carried over a lot of design elements into earlier adventure artwork, mainly in the shoes, gloves and the very curve like spines

I based the design on Uekawa’s Classic Sonic! :)

New sonic action figures based on Yuji Uekawa's Sonic adventure artstyle. Imagine how much that would sail.

Yuji Uekawa sonic ALWAYS wins in my book

I like X/2000s Uekawa's look the best

It wasn't always on the nose (especially X) but when they got it right?

MMMMMMMM

and honorable mention to Sonic Battle

These Uekawa pieces are really nice. Kinda makes me wish we could get one similar but with Movie Sonic in addition to the trio.

Anyways, here's one artwork from Chaomix, one of mine, and one of Yuji Uekawa, all using the "same" style for comparison :)

THIS
IS
COOL!!!!!!

You NAILED IT. The dynamic posing, Early Uekawa’s way of drawing fingers, the shade of blue, the proportions, the KINO background, the droopy hotdog shoes. EVERYTHING. Jam’s Artstyle is PEAK Classic Sonic. I really wish Mania went in this direction.

I just wanted to ask this because I usually get different answers...

If Sonic Adventure 3 was ever released, would it use the Yuji Uekawa art in the boxart or would it be a 3D render?

Uekawa’s Work is so GOOD! The “Hotdog” like Droopy Shoes and the way he draws Fingers is amazing.
