Eggman was once Robo-Robotnik. An alternate version of Robotnik from another dimension which also took place several years in the future.. but when he got to Movius prime he impersonated Robotnik.. but.. him and his swatbots looked MUCH more similar to the satam version.

With the Archie Robotnik.. He had a slight different design from Satam Robotnik... and also, Archie Robotnik's Swatbots were also designed differently then the Satam Swatbots.

Back in the day when I got into Sonic, and checked out the Archie comics book? I actually had this theory that Dr Eggman was the original Satam Robotnik from the cartoon, while Prime Robotnik was just the "Archie Robotnik"... Why did I think that? Well..
