Tried a different coloring style that's more gradient-based rather than weird-coloring-and-blending-based

I used this method before I discovered the second. It looks more crisp but it's just kinda boring imo. Thoughts?

I decided to make a gradient map out of the palette for today and put it over an older pic I drew of Pepita that I never posted. I think it came out a lot more cohesive than the original picture, honestly.

Turns out sending gradients straight through this rgb-quantization is not great for stability, so I'm also minimizing mean(quant_distances) to keep raw img close to quantized one!
