I tweaked mine to be a little close, it fades out at the edges by distance from camera, the dark fading out first. I added a high frequency ripple to the light one.

I also tweaked the transparency so items are a little visible below the water then fade.

These were definitely the hardest for me, full illustration comps are just not something I'm super familiar with yet. The dance scene especially, as I knew I wanted the bg to 'fade out' and have a crowd but didn't know exactly what I wanted that to look like.
