we can assume that history may have repeated itself and dk jr (who is all grown up) kidnaps her. however, this may not be the case as the “traumatic” event pauline referred to in odyssey could’ve been ‘mario vs donkey kong.’ this could explain why new york becomes new donk.

pio ii, who went by his nickname “jumpman” OR his surname “mario,” was a carpenter. he rescued a lady from a giant gorilla named donkey kong and his son, dk jr (who was a toddler.) its implied that pio ii held cranky in captivity, as suggested by ‘donkey kong circus.’

papa pio mario is the son of “grandpapa pio” and “grandmama mia mario” (yes, his parents share the same name as him and his wife)

so papa pio’s full name would likely be “pio mario jr” or “pio mario ii”
