i have a large scanner (epson GT-20000) so up to A3 i can scan the whole thing, if it's bigger i'll scan in pieces and use photoshop photomerge, which works scarily well

then spend lots of time locally adjusting levels and clone-tooling out dog hair

The black background of this was painted with Stuart Semple's black 3.0 paint giving the foreground image the illusion that it's floating in front of nothingness. The scan of this image looks pretty good, but it looks way better in person.
