Today's #NCMuseumsUnlocked takes us to @AuroraFossilMus in beautiful Beaufort Co.
It isn't officially #FossilFriday, but it might as well be!
Have you been to @AuroraFossilMus or Aurora Fossil Festival? Please share your images w/ the hashtag, & tag & follow the museum.
@acverg @sainthyena Thank u for the opportunity!
I'm Fossil and I like to try drawing and painting a bit of everything!
If interested in commissioning me just send a DM!

Skeletal diagram of Ichthyovenator laosensis I created for its @Wikipedia article. Yep! Turns out that like its later relative #Spinosaurus, Ichthy also had a tail fin! Definitely been a great year for spinosaurid palaeontology 📖. #sciart #fossils #dinosaurs #paleontology
I thought it was weird that there isn't a character like Flick or C.J. for fossils so I made one up, Meet Maryanne (named after Mary Anning, basically the Mother of Paleontology) #ACNH #AnimalCrossingNewHorizions
My half of a trade with @RunRunnerRabbit ! She’s on the hunt for some FOSSILS
Playing around with making ACNH assets. I got an Illustrator > Photoshop > https://t.co/idERJcMYzJ > Nintendo Switch Online > ANCH Pattern Editor Pro workflow going and it's fascinating me. This one's for fossil path stones, enjoy! :) #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons #acnhpattern
Ichthyosaur bones can create patterns of ridges in the shale, even if bones can’t be seen. Other fossils & mineral concretions can form bumps too. Pic shows the bones in section - half an ichthyosaur bone looks like a black bow tie. 6/9
Drew another pokemon for the collaboration being held on DA.
Archen is my all-time favorite flying-type and fossil pokemon there is; I love 'em to death!
(Hydreigon is my number one favorite, though)

No. 142: Aerodactyl
Fossil Pokémon
A Pokémon that roamed the skies in the dinosaur era. Its teeth are like saw blades.
The first written and graphic documentation on the discovery of a fragment of dinosaur bone was in 1677. A naturalist of the XVIII called it Scrotum humanum, thinking it was petrified testicles. This fossil, now lost, is probably a Megalosaurus femur. #Dinosaurs #HistSci #NatHist
@SamSykesSwears @CofCNatHistory Hell yes. You'll like this post by @DeepFriedDNA - another big beauty! #FossilFriday https://t.co/iBu0t6O8Nj
Gen 8’s fossils Pokémon got a lot of hate, but we can’t deny the good concept behind them.
Stop Saying That There Are Too Many Sauropod Dinosaurs, Part 5!!, new at #TetZoo #dinosaurs #FossilFriday https://t.co/qMtaj8yq3x
New fossil evidence emerged this week suggesting that Spinosaurus was a primarily aquatic creature, spending most of their lives in the water. Here is my very scientific drawing taking the new discovery into account!
#FossilFriday The original lithograph of a skull of Toxodon platensis found by Darwin, from Owen's description in the "Zoology of the Voyage of HMS Beagle", and the same fossil today at @NHM_London
New paper by ME (and @dcpaleo & Federico Anaya) for #FossilFriday! It's been such a boring week in #paleontology so welcome my two new 13 Ma kids Olisanophus riorosarioensis (L) and Olisanophus akilachuta (R)!
Some new #paleoart for #FossilFriday. This 2018 Irritator image was destined for a future book, but it's now superfluous thanks some study or other that came out this week. This is a substantial update on a scene from my 2013 pterosaur book. Tapejara and Anhanguera also feature.

#FossilFriday #PrehistoricPark
Spinosaurus are the weirdest dinosaurs, and the latest research advocated that the tail structure could have been an excellent swimmer.
I want to see them and @Nigelmarven swimming together in the Prehistoric Park sequel.
