I just find them more fun. I feel as though the hyper-realistic designs can get overused. Plus these guys are just easier to draw.

He is based on Both... He quite literally takes aspects of American Sonic and meshes them with Japanese sonic. bendy ears, More defined Brow, skinner Eye whites.
