I used to sketch out every drawing before I would ever reach for color. I've found myself skipping that step & go instead for blocking out color, shape & the feel of the piece. It's really quite freeing & it's helped loosen up my style & how I approach each new drawing.

Color final result vs BW original. I tried out the process of drawing over the BW shading instead of starting with color. it made coloring painting style easier, I’d never use it for my typical cell shading though!
