does anyone else kinda greatly dislike the coloring on the octopath/triangle strat/etc art style

like the colors look muddy imo and i know its intentional but i dont like it thqt much T__T the first pic here the outfit is sooo cute but the colors dont pop

It's funny because I was just going to call it quits here when making a new icon. I decided to practice all the new coloring techniques I learned throughout this week and I liked the results much better than had I stuck with what I made below.
