1. Lineart, flats
2. Monochrome shading
3. Colour layer
4. Colour lineart (do bg too)
5. honestly try to do lighting and overlay in moderation at the end but i always ignore my own advice
6. (I always forget!) texture, colour balance, blur

because when i do a physical print, i usually want it to read like it was made via an analog (i.e. non digital) print method. so i guess at first i was thinking silkscreen and, i was in the mountains, it was fall, and i got really into this red and grey vibe:

painted my pfp ^^ i tried using the do-all-rendering-on-two-layers-painting method (idk what it's called but you know what i mean!!) and tbh it's super fun and i was alble to finish this in one day, maybe i'll start painting like this more?
@beyebekol using multiple soft layer overlay etc just experiment it! this one used grayscale method but it came out really vibrant

I feel ive gotten more used to using my tablet over the year, I might try this water color esq. method again later but im happy with the techniques im using now
@Artcompany10 There’s two things that prevent me from doing that. One is that it looks really crumbly with chalky lineart. Two is that my lineart is rarely closed for it to work. It’s overall a pretty imprecise method, I tend to go with a lasso-made base or one that I’ve drawn by hand.
