Hey my name is Erwin/Cupid and I am a black horror surrealist oc artist, I get inspired a lot by vintage aesthetics and religious themes , I draw my oc’s that live in an original universe I created that takes place from the 1940s to the 1990s ⭐️

Ok I know I just draw the same thing over and over BUT I spent my 2 weeks without an iPad doing tons of black and white value studies and going through every damned diagram in 1940s art books and I’m kind of annoyed with how much it helped.

In the 1940s the artist became involved with painter George Tooker. He was also introduced to the egg tempera medium. This was a Renaissance technique which allowed hyper-realism. Youth with Kite (1941), Reflection (1944), Bill Miller (1945) & Nude (nd)

Part of what I love about HBO Max's Looney Tunes Cartoons is that it took the risk and styled its characters in their older 1940s designs.

Even Daffy Duck was reverted back to the Clampett duck-like design. Aside from also reverting him back to being the lovable daffy screwball.

🔎So, why is my comic is influenced by the 1940s?

Well, it draws from the aesthetic, how a major war influenced people's lives, and the lack of modern technology.

And the lack of cellphones/internet makes the plot way more interesting!

Comic featuring a never before seen superteam from the Silver Age of Comics

What if there had been three large superhero comic publishing companies since the 1940s? DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Standard Comics.

VERY old but the Arctic Giant from the 1940s Superman Fleischer Studios cartoons! He technically predates Godzilla himself but still...

"1940s pup power armor soldier"
I'm not sure if I like the newer ones better, in this case.
