Way back in the day, Mayfair Games did Role Aids, a line for use with AD&D. The former a sourcebook with adventure. The later, just adventure. Great books if you can find them. (Or maybe that's just Nostalgia talking.)

Mine was the magic-user - AD&D 1st edition style. 1 spell and 1d4 Hp at first level and AC 10

One of the motivations behind Bhakashal was to take things in AD&D and spin them just a bit differently. The Thaumaturge is an example of that, a thief/magic-user, but one who ONLY uses scroll spells, no memorization of spells like a regular magic-user
