This doesn’t mean Kurt is innocent. He performs non-threatening-ness to reassure Meggan, and draw her in. Describing himself as “cute” & “charming” in contrast to the beastly Hank McCoy, he benefits from Meggan’s concern for his well-being, which inspires her to get closer. 8/11
Sure enough, Meggan subverts Kurt’s swashbuckler fantasy of rescuing her from manufactured peril, choosing to fly instead of fall into his arms. Kurt flashes an appreciative smile, then risks a teleport—something that’s been difficult since his recent coma—to tickle Meggan. 4/11
When Meggan asks Kurt what he's doing, he scoops and tosses her, with her face shifting from delighted to baffled. This is typical of Kurt, who's often playful with teammates. Importantly, there's no physical threat to Meggan; she has flight & super-strength. 3/11
