Modigliani moved to Paris (1906). There he became close to Jacob Epstein. He was a noted dandy, admiring Picasso’s mind & not his wardrobe! Woman with Hat (1907), Nude with Hat (1907-8), Woman (1907) & Maud Abrantes (1907)

St Sebastian (1610-14), View & Plan of Toledo (1610) & Picasso’s (c1899) painting inspired by El Greco (1590s). That El Greco was a giant is demonstrated by Picasso’s fascination with him. Do search him out!

Picasso’s Family of Saltimbanques (1904/5) is one of his most famed works. It emphasises isolation & reflects the loneliness of an avant garde artist isolated from the crowd. It is a wistful & beautiful work by the master.

Picasso’s blue period, enveloped in death, somehow in my mind draws the association to the second theme of the first movement of the 7th war sonata by Prokofiev, which resonates with these visual expressions of dealing with destiny, life facing death, powerlessness before destiny

He changed the dynamics of the scene. Ever the peacemaker, Will ended the Cold War and made the cat and lobster friends! The cat and lobster are about to touch paw to claw! He was 14.

His painting is called ‘Picasso’s Cat’. 🐈 🦞
