Ahaha, a 2013 tumblr gif from when I FIRST saw the game's trailer, and was pleading for Peach to finally be playable in a full Mario adventure for the first time since SMB2... Foxune and Zanny reassured me how likely it seemed, I'm so happy she finally got to be included. ❤️

A small amount of the original game's art had the same color scheme as the sprites, and all of the art in Super Mario Advance was updated to have the correct coloring. So overall I'd say the color of the sprites are much more recognizable when it comes to SMB2.

The first appearance of a whale in the Mario franchise is in SMB2, where they act as ground below otherwise dangerous jumps. The occasional water spouts can be used to gain height. They're not exactly harmful enemies, but it's not like they're trying to help out.

These fashionable dinosaurs can shoot eggs out of their large snouts, and serve as mid-bosses in many of SMB2's levels. One in particular has made herself at home in the franchise through spin-offs, and seems to have hit it off with another dinosaur really well :o

SMB2 is my favorite Mario game. I meant to get around to painting a Shyguy (since that's my fave Mario enemy) but I never did. Now I don't even do art in my painting style any more!
