🔸Tomorrow I'm jumping back into oil painting after an absence. In doing some research I'm reminded that JEFFREY CATHERINE JONES was incredibly skilled.
She did an excellent Batman.
She collaborated with Vaughn Bode.
And she was fond of big trees like N.C. Wyeth.

A beautiful illustration of the castaway Robinson Crusoe, from the 1920 edition illustrated by N. C. Wyeth.

During a treacherous sea voyage, Crusoe's vessel gets attacked by pirates, leaving him shipwrecked on a deserted Caribbean island https://t.co/3h6aLIX1NR

I’ve definitely experimented over the years with different mediums and styles, but these are some of my favorites. Definitely inspired by Samuel Chamberlain, Otomo, and Andrew Wyeth.

There are oh so many, but two that stand out for me are “Wind From the Sea” and “Last Light” by Andrew Wyeth. My parents took me to the Brandywine museum as a teen and I got to see 3 generations of Wyeth paintings and they were just breathtaking. Very visceral.
