IRIA: ZEIRAM THE ANIMATION from the early 90s is a stunning anime in story, characters, world-building, and at times animation. And Iria (seen below) is a genuine feminist icon. I love her so. I definitely recommend this short but super sweet series. <3

so if you've only ever encountered the OVA from 1994 (which was big on the SciFi channel in the late 90s, i taped it & that's how i fell in love), do yourself a favor & check out the "Duology" of Zeiram (1991) & Zeiram 2 (1994). they're all worth a watch!
