Since Atalanta is kind of blank slate I based my fanfic version on Camilla from The Aeneid since they serve similar roles in this chapter. Camilla is a follower of Artemis/Diana but is basically an Amazon so it fits quiet well.

I took another walk this morning and listened to books seven and eight of the Aeneid. Something I hadn’t noticed before is that Turnus has Io depicted on his shield. I found an article with an interesting interpretation - here is the first page.
