Pastel Paleotober Day 26: Amargasaurus 🦕

Amargasaurus was an early Cretaceous sauropod from Argentina. While not as long as some other sauropods, its neck sported extended vertebral spines which, unlike spinosaurus and dimetordon, are not thought to have supported a skin sail.

It'd definitely be a sauropod, without a doubt. My vote goes for Amargasaurus or Diplodocus though.

Yutyrannus, Amargasaurus, Dimetrodon and Spinosaurus are among some of my favorites. All extremely interesting animals, with such unique designs to them and in how they lived

I usually don't do full backgrounds, mostly cause I don't feel very confident in them, but I'm pretty happy with how this one came out ^^

Really simple and cartoony amargasaurus.

Here is something random. I wanted to do Gigan but as a realistic dinosaur in the style of He is kind of a mix between a Cassowary an Amargasaurus and a Therizinosaurus

Fun fact, the Kalos Fossil Pokemon, Aurorus, from the Sail Fossil, is based on the Dinosaur Amargasaurus, and not just any bronto or apato or whatever. The resemblance is quite canny here with the sail on it's back as well as other characteristics + it's name.

Amargasaurus was a sauropod known from Cretaceous rocks of western Argentina. Although once thought to support a double sail on its neck, paleontologists now think the long spines were freestanding.

Nothing beats Amaura and Aurorus; they're based off Amargasaurus
