The first drawing i've done since having my little potato. I need to get more practice in and find my brushes.. but it was really fun to do. Scarlet is so pretty 😍
Had to add a background because it goes all blotchy, i dunno... uwu

It came out looking a lot more blotchy (particularly the skin) than it does in reality. My scanner seems to do that. So I smoothed over some areas with a wet brush. Here is the result.

Laying in a second pass of color…some rosy mid-tone. Everything gets weird and blotchy at this stage. The blending comes as I layer-up. This is acrylic…no ACTUAL blending of paint on the canvas. It is implied.

I need some solidarity here, there is absolutely nothing going on with with my skin, but whenever I get very warm, nervous, passionate, feel any kind of emotion my skin gets extremely red and blotchy. I have a tough time wearing shorts and low cut shirts for this reason.

speaking of space - almost all the time the characters are portrayed as bust-up, and the backgrounds are just blotchy and empty, making it impossible to tell where they are - when they’re drawn in, they’re 3d modeled

random rant but why is SEGA always using this artwork for Chaos Emeralds? I swear these must be from the dreamcast era and then have just been compressed and upscaled over and over, they look so blotchy and blurry, so much better art of the chaos emeralds exist... so whyy
