#MGBooktober Day 24: I wish I could visit @joshwhowrites’s Willow Cove (especially considering it’s almost Halloween) or @e_foster3’s Esperance (who wouldn’t want to visit a magical Venice-like city)! #BookAllies
Adding one more illustrator I love to #MGBooktober Day 23! I chanced upon Aishwarya @toondoon1010's work on Twitter one day and immediately commissioned her to create a toon profile picture of me & illustrations for my website which I soo LOVE! She's wonderfully talented!
#MGBooktober Day 23! I followed @beverlylove's work before I had a book deal and was SO excited to have her illustrate my debut novel! Here's some of her incredible work and I CANNOT wait to share the amazing chapter illustrations she's done for REA AND THE BLOOD OF THE NECTAR!
Booktober day 22
Sleepy Hollow. Hard to separate the subject from Burton’s movie aesthetic
I'm lagging terribly with #MGBooktober and I promise to catch up because I love all the questions! Coming on today to selfishly promote the book I'm most excited for release in 2021 - my #ownvoices fantasy, REA AND THE BLOOD OF THE NECTAR!

Book I'm most excited about in 2021? Um... 😂
Shameless self-promo aside, there are a TON of great debut #MGlit books coming in 2021!

Day 19 of #MGBooktober: There’s sooo much #mglit to look forward to in 2021, but EngiNerds Strike Back by @Jarrett_Lerner, A Place to Hang the Moon by @katealbus, When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie by @erindowning, & Alone by @meganefreeman are all at the top of our list!
Booktober day 18
One of the most fascinating story
My fourth #booktober #drawing #challenge entry!
The book selected by @Elidust is
" IT " by #StephenKing
If you want to know more about the challenge I made a post here:

Day 13 #MGBooktober Graphic novels intimidate me so it's a goal of mine to read more of them! Eager to see others recommendations. Here are some on my tbr @EoinColfer @AndrewDonkin @rigano_giovanni @rainaqo @JamiesonV @thatlukeperson
Graphic novels are our jam, but our fave ever is Gabby & Gator by @jamesburksart. This is *that* book for us- the one that started our fangirling for #graphicnovels. (And the updated G&G releases in one week- we ordered multiple copies already!) Yay for Day 13 of #MGBooktober! 🐊
Day 12 of #MGbooktober. It has a title that suggests silliness, but this book by @nesbo_jo is so much more than that. It has a lovable protagonist, a delightful plot, and a good message.
#MGBooktober Day 11 This is tough-we've always been a readaloud family (even though the kids are getting older)
But today I will say that these books are some of our favorites because my kids love hearing words, names & phrases that represent the different sides of who they are!
#MGBooktober Day 8 -- My favorite genre of middle grade is contemporary stories that include a speculative element. Humor and a strong voice are other big draws for me.
Our favorite middle grade genre is an impossible task because it totally depends on our moods! But since we are always ready for a funny book, here’s a shout out to a few of our laugh-out-loud faves for Day 8 of #MGBooktober: The Real McCoys, Bernice Buttman, & Beatrice Zinker!
Okay so the #MGBooktober Day 7 prompt was probably the hardest so far but I decided to go with a whole bunch of Mikes who have written great graphic novels: @MikeLawIllustra, @Mike_Cavallaro, and @MikeCurato. #kidlit #comics
