Day 1 of Terrestrial cetacean

The Shovel-faced Bogpoirse is a species of burrowing cetacean from the distant future that uses hardened hairs and iron reinforced teeth to dig through the soils of the wetlands it lives in, where it preys on burrowing invertebrates.

while very clearly reptilian, like a plesiosaur, it takes some elements from cetaceans. definitely a stretch.

Aquatic alien beings are mostly found in the Sirius system and had a great influence on earth as seen in Egyptian mythology.

False killer whale (#Pseudorca crassidens): described as a fossil by Owen in 1846 for a skull found in the Lincolnshire Fens of east England, but then discovered as a modern animal thanks to strandings of 1861 and 1862 [pics PD; Juan Ortega, CC BY-SA 3.0] 5/n

These two together, just being pals. Also, Oswald is a guy whose penis is internal and looks similar to that of a cetacean like a Dolphin. Professor Oswald Bookman is 6'03 feet tall compared to Fumi Tsumiki who is 5'05 feet tall.

How big is that whale? Do you have a hard time visualizing the size difference between species of in the Don’t worry, you’re not alone. And we’re here to help!

In his "Fischbuch" (1563, f.89r), Conrad Gesner recapitulates on the cetaceans distinguished by Olaus Magnus (around 1550). Here: the
"It is said to be quite large, with horns and a fiery face, quite hideous" and to have a "long beard".

Earth is a polluted wasteland beyond recovery. We did it and we're ashamed of it, I am.
In time, we made contact with aliens out there, and when they came, they evacuated the cetacean and other sentient species, but not us.
Humans were not worth being rescued, I got it.

Kutchicetus minimus was an early whale from the Eocene, & at 2.5m long, it was probably the smallest cetacean of its time. It was semi-aquatic, like an otter.

First time drawing cetaceans, and these are not even extant!

Why did it take me so long to nibble on the cetacean group? I drew a monk seal some long time ago but these marine mammals seem even simpler than sea puppies

Here is another Original Character I created, Ms. Delphine. She is a Marine Biologist and serves as a guardian to Kelpsie.

It's : a reminder that there are too many species that fit the definition of 'endangered'. The vaquita is the smallest and most endangered cetacean with as few as 10 individuals left. We work to help species like the vaquita; they give us porpoise.

Batch 12 of my biology inspired Mermay series! Featuring some cetaceans with gnarly tooth-gear, Beaked Whales and Narwhals.

The Whales are Mer!Orcs, while Narwhals are arctic nomads.
