Here's a quick mock-up that I made before creating the visualiser, here I added the corrupted faces and also positioned the boyfriends art to look closer to the screen, making it feel a little more claustrophobic, giving some emphasis on his worries

Shadow Tower is dense, dark, unfriendly and scary as hell. Visibility is often limited if you don't have a torch. The claustrophobic locations and bizarre enemy designs lean more toward the horror genre than you might expect from the successor to the King's Field series.
