Did a quick paddlefish for the "tiny eye" theme. The American paddlefish (Polyodon spathula) has small undeveloped eyes, so it relies on sensory receptors to track down food

When learning to identify longnose dace, I was taught to look for the "mustach" created by the dark lines on this fish's side that extend to its face. Here is a couple of my illustrations of this magnificent creature.

I enjoy participating and looking at everyone's efforts each week even if I haven't done a picture (been messing about with clay lately). I think I'm beginning to maybe hate these particular fish though... 2D red-blue idiots

The hardworking male White-Spotted Pufferfish (T. albomaculosus) is famous for creating geometric nests in the sand to attract a mate and shelter its eggs. Some nests may take over a week to create, with stunning results.

Finally had time to pick this back up! Kelp Paddies often provide shelter for growing kelp forest denizens too! It's common to see them surrounded by a multitude of small fish. In the open ocean, nearly anything can be shelter!
