Did a quick paddlefish for the "tiny eye" theme. The American paddlefish (Polyodon spathula) has small undeveloped eyes, so it relies on sensory receptors to track down food #SundayFishSketch
Anglerfish have adapted to crushing pressure and oppressive darkness, which seems appropriate some days #SundayFishSketch
#SundayFishSketch are back !
today it's the Banded Moray, Gymnothorax rueppellii
When learning to identify longnose dace, I was taught to look for the "mustach" created by the dark lines on this fish's side that extend to its face. Here is a couple of my illustrations of this magnificent creature.

🎃🎃🎃 #SundayFishSketch featuring the pumpkinseed sunfish!
This cutie lives in freshwater ecosystems throughout N. America, including the Great Lakes here in MI. Retired @UMichEEB prof, Earl Werner, studied foraging and habitat use of the pumpkinseed and other sunfish species
Opah day 20, 21, 22 #SundayFishSketch
I enjoy participating and looking at everyone's efforts each week even if I haven't done a picture (been messing about with clay lately). I think I'm beginning to maybe hate these particular fish though... 2D red-blue idiots
#SundayFishSketch & #inktober2022 day 9: NEST. Betta fish and their bubble nest! #sciart #inktoberday9 #procreate

It's been a minute since I did a #SundayFishSketch. Here's my initial exploration of an anglerfish in watercolor pencil.
It's been a few weeks since I've been able to do a #sundayfishsketch so I'm happy to have been able to give this week's bioluminescence theme a go💡
Midshipman WIP for #sundayfishsketch bioluminescent theme. Will try to finish this guy up tomorrow
Being busy with work and family life makes me ‘petrified’ that I’ll never be able to go SCUBA diving abroad again, where I might catch a glimpse of this Caribbean reef squid. 🦑 😱 🤿 #SundayFishSketch #Squidtember
#SundayFishSketch the cutest of all, the snowflake moray (Echidna nebulosa)
#SundayFishSketch off theme. Tried to show the 3 colour morphs of Leopard cat sharks Poroderma pantherinum. Top to bottom- salt and pepper variety, Normal variety ( rosettes and stripes) and marleyi variety ( rosettes).
Late night #SundayFishSketch. This week's theme is "hard-working fishes". Great White Sharks have some of the longest migrations (distance-wise) of any shark species. Individuals have been documented travelling from South Africa to Australia and back again.
Off theme #SundayFishSketch but #SciArtSeptember. 1. Survivor, 2 Monstrous, 3. Captive, 4. Schooling. Had to play quick catch up today. Will try and fit all 30 images onto this page.
The hardworking male White-Spotted Pufferfish (T. albomaculosus) is famous for creating geometric nests in the sand to attract a mate and shelter its eggs. Some nests may take over a week to create, with stunning results.

Finally had time to pick this back up! Kelp Paddies often provide shelter for growing kelp forest denizens too! It's common to see them surrounded by a multitude of small fish. In the open ocean, nearly anything can be shelter! #sciart #SundayFishSketch #WhaleDayFriday
