#BOTD: And as it's Michael Moorcock's birthday, it seems only fair to post this piece @seanpphillips did of me as Elric when we were at college. Isn't it great?
Chris Achilleos’ work could be found on hundreds of books across childhood bookcases, on the covers authors such as Robert E Howard, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Michael Moorcock, fighting fantasy, games, magazines, as well as the Dr who series.
Gone but not forgotten
Studios Runatyr, @AuroraPunks and @UpstreamArcade are joining forces to create a narrative action game centered on #Elric of Melniboné. Out in 2024, the game will adapt the #fantasy saga's first 6 books with some degree of input by Michael Moorcock himself
Gundam fans often talk about Char clones but Moorcock fans should really start talking about Elric and Jerry Cornelius clones.
Monday already?
Here are some silver haired guys to start the week!
It's also a good opportunity to share some of the awesome writers I've been blessed to illustrate.
@erikson_steven , Michael Moorcock, @PatrickRothfuss and @GRRMspeaking

Elric: The Eternal Champion Collection by Michael Moorcock, Phillipe Druillet, and James Cawthorn - Cawthorn’s book has great fantasy art held back but unfortunately confusing storytelling. Druillet’s book is like looking into the soul of a nightmare god and It rules.
Michael Moorcock on The Cloven "...fulfills all the promises of the first two. It has a place beside such modern masters of the imagination as E.R. Eddison, Tolkien or Peake, and it is as completely unlike them as those three-deckers are of each other." https://t.co/gfd2wC4wtM
Regarding Elric: I'll always love Mike Moorcock because back on my 1st gig, his belief in me made me believe in me (shoutout to @RickKlaw too). Pictured here: Cover art for Frederik Pohl's GATEWAY and Walter M. Miller Jr.'s A CANTICLE FOR LEIBOWITZ (shoutout to @dianagill). 2/14

Ever heard of fantasy writer Abraham Merritt? He influenced Lovecraft and his ‘Ship of Ishtar’ was hailed by Michael Moorcock as being among the one hundred best fantasy books.
Unknown to most, it was translated into Dutch and published in 1948 as ‘Het Schip van Ishtar’:

It’s fun to see how a hero you know translates into #SerpentineRPG. @KevinKulp takes a look at two ways to play Michael Moorcock’s classic antihero Elric of Melniboné, using the Swords of the Serpentine rules: https://t.co/pG5j02Jt4j
Elric of Melniboné, The White Wolf.
Happy Birthday to the one and only Michael Moorcock!
Saw this while looking for a specific image of Corum from Micahel Moorcock's Eternal Champion series.
Some "Oriental" Amano. The 3rd image may be a little more popular, since it's his version of the heroine Ilian from Moorcock's fantasy novels, & was used as cover art for a Japanese translation of Count Brass.
