Now something more "American", we got a trailer for American Pop (1981) transferred. The film used rotoscoping as its main technique but also includes so many other styles like watercolor/CG/live action/archival footage! Same director Lord of the Rings (1978)/Fire and Ice (1983)!

Undone (2019)!! Dir. Hisko Hulsing + stars Rosa Salazar. After an NDE the main character Alma discovers new bounds of time/realities and uses it to try to solve her father's death. It's animated, but they use rotoscoping which is one of the coolest things I've ever seen on my tv https://t.co/zxM6dJ55NI

Red Earth was also one of Capcoms many dips in to Rotoscoping. Mostly for the bosses, but also done for Mai Ling, as well as Tessas cape. It honestly does it so well, there are times i sincerely can't tell!

It even did the whole Rotoscoping on CPS3 thing before SF3 did. Also helps that all the bosses are sick as shit
Ravange is legit one of my favourite sprite anythings. He has so many moving parts it's so good

I only ever did the reverse-rotoscoping thing like one time for a commission with Lukezee's cool panda lass.

It came out well! I just haven't touched the idea since.

Did I really spend six hours of my life doing this?
Yes.
I regret it?
Maybe.
What do you think? This is the first time I try to make 🥺

seeing rotoscoping technique for Lunark reminded me how I myself posed for some art 😂
I really do recommend this method, it's much easier than searching for a precise pose/angle in the internet (and it's fun)

Hello! I'm a transman artist who just recently graduated college. I enjoy doing editorial work as well as just drawing ocs in general. I have an interest in fantasy and narrative type work, and I've been messing around with rotoscoping in my free time. ^^
