Even the Deadly 6 in Lost World, as stereotypical & bleh as they were, had different designs. They each had their own "personalities", You could tell them apart & each did their own thing in the story.
Imagine if the Deadly Six was just 6 Toads, like in the pic. That's my point.
Odyssey was a godsend. But even then, If they don't want to create entirely new characters or species, I'm still wondering what happened to these guys. There's more to the Mario universe than toads, and even then - I remember when Toads used to be more distinct and varied.
