Konami's legendary for its NES box art "homage."

Frank Frazetta's "The Norseman" inspired the box art for Castlevania. But Castlevania II just straight up plagiarizes the cover of AD&D's Ravenloft.

Frazetta certainly does influence people.🙂

Karl Wagner was a great admirer of the work of Frank Frazetta, as were and are most fans of epic fantasy. Though they never met in person, Frazetta and Wagner did speak on the phone a handful of times. Karl credited Frazettta’s covers with helping him find his audience.

I rewatched this recently & remembered how my friend and I (both age 13) snuck into the R-rated film to watch. Having read the Howard books (w/Frazetta covers!) and the comics by Buscema and Chan, there was no way that I wasn’t going to see this film.

I recently ran across the paintings of Spanish painter Vincente Segrelles. He rose to popularity via his own, painted Spanish fantasy series titled The Mercenary.

A beautiful cross between Angus McBride and Frank Frazetta!

Respect.

One of my favorite Frazetta paintings. When you've read AT THE EARTH'S CORE and you know what they're about to do to this poor girl, it becomes a hundred times more sinister. The Sagoths are on of the tragically under-used monsters in Pulp Fantasy.
