My Favourite C64 Coders No.49
Mike Singleton
The C64 wasn’t Mike’s main machine but I couldn’t do a list of great 80s coders without mentioning him. He had a hand in the C64 conversions of Lords of Midnight & Doomdark’s Revenge and co-coded Quake Minus One. RIP Mike. A genius.
My Favourite C64 Coders No.50
Tony Pomfret
In just two years, Tony put his stamp on the C64 games world by coding six titles for the old breadbin. Hysteria for Software Projects, Mikie for Imagine & Firefly & Hunchback II: Quasimodo's Revenge for Ocean are my three favourites.
#coding near to metal.

My Favourite C64 Coders No.53
Richard Darling
The Darling Brothers made 16 games between them for the C64. Richard was the most prolific and worked on some of the Commie’s best budget titles including BMX Simulator, Pro BMX Simulator, Chiller, Master of Magic & Spellbound.
My Fave C64 Coders No.55
Marc Dawson
Marc started out at Imagine, making BC Bill in 1984 before moving to Thor in 85 & coding the quirky Stairways. Staying in the Liverpool area, he then worked at Odin where he authored Hypa-Ball & the excellent Mission AD & Robin of the Wood.
My Favourite C64 Coders No.56
Simon Nicol
Simon’s first C64 game was TLL (Tornado Low Level) for Ocean. After that, he made Martech's superb shoot ‘em ups Crazy Comets and Mega Apocalypse before signing off with Back to the Future III for Image Works in 1991.
My Favourite C64 Coders No.61
Robert Steggles
As a kid I was too young & impatient to appreciate adventures but I was always impressed by Magnetic Scrolls' titles. Robert worked on Corruption, Fish, The Pawn & Guild of Thieves, by all accounts, 4 of the 80s greatest adventures.
Both games bear the trappings of early '80s bedroom-coder works, more so than most games I've covered so far. For all the fun bits, there's plenty of jank!
T'was a time when PC enthusiast magazines like I/O (Compac here) & Oh!FM published small games otherwise lacking a sponsor.
Woot! Thanks @cypherchk and @MyPhysicalNFT
Now the question is, which of these two Coder Chicks should I do? https://t.co/jUzVgTEeVs
My friend playing Code Realize made a Swiss cheese joke after Fran was revealed to be Swiss, so who was I to ignore a perfectly good Victor Frankenswiss opportunity 🧀
