@sophiadimartino @netflix just finished watching it and thought it was full of historical errors (like taxation being a major driver- nope). Not to say that we shouldn’t be talking more about slavery & exploitation but in 22 minutes it had a lot to cover and I think it bit off more than it could chew.
@goIdenkory It's weird to see Blackfire in such a skimpy outfit because she was born without that ability. That's why she sold her sister into slavery when she was passing her for the crown.
Shes usually covered head to toe.

@TATKulisch The Wind element is ruled by the God Windesoar, a total jackass, though not without some good points. He loves being worshipped and will torture his enemies, but he hates slavery and is good to his faithful followers.

Maturity will never come
there will always be - not this and - not enough,
bitterly, not in time, in vain.
Nobody will bend over, nobody will fix it
and they will continue to bleed
hearts and roses.

@plcphd This issue goes out of it way to reminds us a dark and deadly history for African Americans. In some ways it goes by so quickly, but each panel is filled with a complex history that speaks to colonialism, slavery, and power. @MSUMuseum #CrusadingInColor
