Back from "break" to Week 4 of #UnnaturalHistory! This week we talked about scientific expeditions + fieldwork in "extreme" environments, from the tropics to the Arctic. We discussed hierarchies of knowledge production, the movement of specimens + the "burden" of science.

Drew this Drepanosaurus~ ✨ With a hump back, large index claws, chonky tail and a tail claw they are definitely some of the most interesting bone specimens of extinct reptiles that I've ever seen~ 🦴🦎✨
Something cute, fluffy and still living for a change. Paucidentomys, the earthworm-eating, nearly toothless rat from Sulawesi, and Cuscomys, the mysterious chinchilla rat of Machu Picchu. Both known from very few specimens, either very rare, very elusive, or both.

In probably the most wholesome video we will ever make, I show off my little fossil museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The fossils in this game are really well done, and there's some surprisingly obscure specimens!

The #BigGardenBirdWatch starts this week so we have been doing a spot of twitching on our bookshelves for #RareBookOfTheWeek. What about these beautiful specimens from the 'Feathered Tribe of the British Islands' (1834)?
Thrilled to join @terryagates & @DinosaurJoe in describing new specimens of Parasaurolophus that FINALLY reveal how that iconic tube crest is actually built. These are the specimens I’ve been dreaming of since grad school- it’s an awesome day.

Anyone want to make my roadie an updated ref?!? I want him to look more like a real opossum! He also have new glasses and he needs his beanie he wears also.
I have some characters, closed species, and oddities (skulls, wet specimens, witchy things, I would trade! For it)
